About Sarah Foster
Praised for their “light and shimmering timbre,” soprano Sarah Foster (they/them) can be found using their voice both on- and offstage. Sarah eagerly embraces the intersection of art, disability, and the queer community, and uses new and relevant ideas to inform their musical work. They continually aim to speak up for marginalized communities through this musical approach.

Born into a musical family, Sarah began singing the moment they were born. They participated in children's choirs and school plays growing up before beginning their university career at the University of California, Irvine where they studied choral conducting with Joseph Huszti. Sarah spent two years in Sweden studying musicology and the Swedish language, as well as touring southern Sweden with multiple choirs and becoming well known within student theatre groups. Sarah received a Bachelor of Music with Distinction in Applied Vocal Performance from Sonoma State University, studying under soprano Rhoslyn Jones, as well as with Robyn Driedger-Klassen at the Vancouver Academy of Music as part of the Artist Diploma program.

Sarah's previous appearances include performances as a member of the San Francisco Symphony Chorus under the direction of Ragnar Bolin and Michael Tilson Thomas, The Legend of Zelda - Symphony of the Goddesses (Areté Singers), as Sarah Brown in Guys and Dolls (North Bay Stage Company), and as a soloist with the Swedish choir Carolinae Damkör on their CD, “Frid på jord.” They were recently seen as Belinda in Vancouver Academy of Music's production of Dido and Aeneas, and can be heard on symphonic-power metal band SideQuest’s newest album “The Story of No One (Part II).”

Sarah is now based in Northern California, where they sing a lot of songs to their cat, Hildegard.
